Old terminal is one whiffy way to leave
As we are all aware Dubai has built the most incredible new airport terminal which when flying Emirates we are all privileged to depart and arrive from and to.
What a wake-up call we had today when we had to go to the old departure terminal to purchase a ticket.
The terminal had a stale pungent smell of cigarette smoke - really nauseating and shocking when you think that so many visitors using other airlines are going to depart from this terminal, and that this is their final impression of this country.
I certainly hope this will be resolved, however I hope to be fortunate enough to use the new terminal and not the tobacco-scented option.
Time to clean up and leave travellers with a nice lasting scented impression of Dubai…

I think your judgement is a bit harsh. Been using the airport on a monthly basis and I think the services and the condition of the airport are excellent.

Honestly, the 'old' terminal is still brilliant, especially when you compare it to the likes of Heathrow in London or CDG in Paris. Sounds like you just have a problem with smokers in general, but don't worry, smoking will be a thing of the past in a couple of years, leaving you to choose some other target for your indignation. Let me suggest overweight people, as this seems to be the next target for populist zealots all too willing to pass on their opinion to others.
