‘The intense smell of burned rusted metal and plastic, ashes and smoke filled the air in a ruin; death still, evokes the sense of devastation and massive destruction. Mass of twisted metal pilled up in a disintegrated state of deformation resembling a memorial of considerable sizes in a state of decay.’ Photographs and found objects in this exhibition are the result of the four-month excursion of Dariush Zandi and Shaqayeq Arabi at the burnt site of an explosion, in Al Qouz, Dubai in early 2008. The trendy bar and restaurant has established outlets in Hong Kong and London, and the Dubai addition is already garnering a reputation for having some of the finest dishes in town.
