Find out what artistic delights await you next year with the ‘Sneak Preview’ exhibition at Dubai’s latest art gallery.
Carbon 12 Dubai,
‘The International Art Space’, down at the Marina, is hosting the event to give art lovers a taste of what they can expect in 2009.
Carbon 12 says it wants to showcase art from around the world and be different from other galleries in Dubai, which tend to focus on Arabic art work.
“There are 20 different artists exhibiting, all of whom will have full exhibitions throughout 2009,” says Daisy Omissi from
Carbon 12.
“One room is up and coming artists and the second room is more established artists.
“It gives a real taste of what the gallery is about.
“We have work here from artists from America, Portugal, Austria, Germany, all over. One of our artists - Katherine Bernhardt has work in the Saatchi gallery.”
Exhibited works include painting, sculpture and photography.
Daisy adds: “The gallery’s owners have a young, fresh and dynamic approach to modern art. Their mission is to bring a colourful variety of styles with one common point: contemporary art at its best.”
The gallery is on the ground floor of Marina View Towers, off Dubai Marina Drive. At present, it is open by appointment only.
