A waiter has denied raping his girlfriend in the back of a van and taking photos of her naked.
The 23-year-old Sri Lankan man pleaded not guilty to raping the 24-year-old at the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday.
The victim told the court: “He took intimate pictures of us hugging and threatened to send them to my family if I did not have sex with him.
“I refused and he apologised and asked to meet up to hand the photos over.”
She said that when they met he pushed her into his employer’s van and assaulted her. “He slapped me and then rapped me and took pictures of me naked.
“While he was taking the photos one of my friends called me and he answered. I yelled for help and she came to save me.”
The suspect claims the woman consented to sex. The case has been adjourned until next month.
