Jailed for forging credit cards

Two men have been jailed for a year after forging 17 credit cards and then going on a shopping spree with them in Dubai.

The men, both Turkish, went to an electronics shop in Deira City Centre and tried to buy a dhs12,000 laptop.

But the salesman became suspicious when the card was refused and then they produced another card in someone else’s name.

The police were called and the men confessed to officers they had entered the UAE on fake passports.

Forged documents were found in their flat in International City. A third man, also Turkish, is thought to also have been involved and is at large.
