Sarah Jessica Parker has named her twin daughters Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.

The ‘Sex and the City’ actress and her husband Matthew Broderick - who already have a six-year-old son James Wilkie - were ecstatic when their surrogate gave birth to the girls on Monday and have spoken of their joy at becoming parents again.

A statement said: “They are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”

Speaking about the names they had given their new daughters, the statement explained: “Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side.”
The couple’s son James is said to be very excited after becoming a big brother and wants to get his new sisters some presents.

Matthew told reporters outside the East Ohio Regional Hospital:  “We have to get a lot of princess toys.”

Sarah and Matthew (pictured) had announced they were expecting twin daughters via a surrogate in April after they struggled to conceive naturally.
Talking about the forthcoming additions to their family, the 44-year-old actress said: “We didn’t expect it. I think after a certain amount of time, you tend to hold your hopes at bay a bit so as not to be disappointed. One really would have been thrilling and we would’ve felt incredibly lucky. And two was a comedy!”
