Man hurt in flipping lorry

A lorry driver has been seriously injured after the vehicle he was driving overturned on a roundabout.

The driver, who is Pakistani, was immediately taken to Al-Mafraq Hospital near Al Ain for treatment.

Police received an emergency call at 9am yesterday about the accident at Al Ain. “We rushed to the scene and saw a truck loaded with electric cables,” an official from Al Ain police said. “We directed traffic and transferred the driver of the lorry to hospital.”

Fuel was leaking from the vehicle and had to be cleared by civil defence.

Oh my word - another Pakistani lorry driver in an accident. Have we not been here before? Many, many, many, many times, yes.
