Arab women need to seize education opportunities and keep up-to-date with the modern world if they want to improve their role in society, the chairwoman of the General Woman Union has said.
Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak stressed her desire to boost the rights of Arab woman and bolster their place in social and political roles in an interview with Arabic magazine ‘Laha’.
“We are looking forward to more achievements for Arab woman and empowering them to become a partner and active participant in sustained development,” she said.
Sheikha Fatima added: “We are proud of the achievements of UAE woman… UAE woman today participate in the three sovereign institutions - executive, legislative and judiciary.” And for the Arab woman to achieve further progress, she added, women must acquire education and keep abreast of progress, while still maintaining their identity, national allegiance, religious teachings and cultural values.
