Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi investment vehicle that owns a stake in AMD, plans to manufacture chips in the UAE in a bid to steal market share.
COO Waleed Al Muhairi said $10 billion had already been committed to the business.
“We will be No.2 in two years,” he said.
“It is an industry-changing move to create, at home, this business. We want to compete with Intel.”
