Napolean’s letter about litter had my blood boiling. Sadly he is correct - even the most educated of people seem to think it is ok to chuck their trash out of their car or leave it behind after a picnic.

It is beyond comprehension to me.

Dropping litter means that you have absolutely no consideration for other people or the world around you - basically making you a supremely selfish human being - and as we know money or education certainly aren’t a cure for that!

The best thing we can all do is stop anyone we see throwing litter, pat them on the back and point out they’ve ‘dropped something’. Maybe we can embarrass people into showing some respect.

Ha ha ha - yes- like one of those America Funniest Videos. Lets hope that many of us wont end up with egg on our faces from the insults hurled at us or black eyes. There are certain nationalities that dont take kindly to anyone telling them what to do.

You should visit JBR beach on Fridays and Saturdays. Disgusting to see these so called smart people leaving behind them all kind of bottles, cups, cigarettes butts and plastics. they know they are coming back next week but dont really care.

See, the problem is with the "smart ones" is that they can afford a servant for everything, so they are LESS likely to be concious of what they do. The cure to this and all the complaints written in is to hold these people accountable while they are in the act itself. Not to write into 7days and complain AFTER THE FACT. People if you are going to complain, be apart of the solution also.

Jean do yourself a favour and go to the Academic City road behind Mirdiff at 6.30 in the morning where people go dune bashing. People go and set up their picnic sites and when they leave all they take with them is their personal belongings and leave their trash strewn all over the dunes and on the road verge. As there are no toilets where do they go? It is absolutely disgusting driving past there to see how filthy the place is and the people do not seem to feel embarrassed at all. No matter the amount of money you have, if you have no self respect and cannot respect others or the environment you have nothing of value at all. That is only my view.
