I came across the October local edition of a prominent women’s magazine and I stumbled upon one passage in particular that featured two young women.
It read: ‘T… and A… have wardrobes almost as good as their garages, which house an Aston Martin and a Maserati. Not bad for 22-year olds, eh?’
I wonder: Is that what we’re aiming for? Is that what every 20 or 30 something should be aiming for in life - success, social identification and belonging personified by the accumulation of material means?
What a sad interpretation of ‘success’ and ‘achievement’.
I can only guess what this age group would answer if we were to run a poll on the subject.
Sad, very, very sad indeed.
