The wife of shamed soccer star John Terry believes his infidelities will make their relationship stronger.
Toni Terry, 28, made her comments as her husband was set to fly to Dubai tonight to try to save their marriage.
Terry is to play in a Premier League fixture against Everton and is then expected to catch a flight to Dubai, where his wife has been hiding out for more than a week.
Toni told OK! magazine: “Whenever we have hard things to deal with in our marriage, it always brings us closer. “And even though we’ve been together for ten years, we’re still learning about each other.”
Toni flew to Dubai with the couple’s two children after it emerged that her husband had cheated on her with lingerie model Vanessa Perroncel, 29.
They reportedly had a five-month affair after she split with Terry’s England colleague and close friend Wayne Bridge.
Terry has praised Chelsea fans for the ovation they gave him at Sunday’s match against Arsenal, his first since England boss Fabio Capello sacked him as skipper.
He told Chelsea TV: “On a personal note I’d like to thank every single fan.”
Terry has been given compassionate leave by Chelsea for his visit to Dubai. And Toni has reportedly sought advice from Victoria Beckham on whether to stay with her husband, who earns dhs1 million a week.
