The wife of an elderly man in prison has been given back her passport after donors gave enough cash to guarantee his release.
Dubai Public Prosecution handed over Betty Hyndman’s documents yesterday and issued a clearance letter for her husband Jack.
The letter confirmed a cheque case against him had been closed after 7DAYS readers donated cash to pay a dhs9,900 hire car bill.
Jack, 78, is expected to complete a two-month sentence next week.
