Dozens of prisoners have been pardoned by the royal family.
The 45 convicts were chosen for showing good behaviour during their sentence and were released from the emirate’s central jail yesterday.
A statement from Ajman’s ruler, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nu’aimi, said that he wanted the prisoners to be reunited with their families.
He said he also wanted to give them the opportunity to be reintegrated into society.
