The municipality is to step up inspections during Ramadan to make sure that establishments meet hygiene requirements.
Ahmad Abdul Rahman Al Ali, the head of food inspection, said the municipality will focus on oil used to fry foods, as well as checking kitchens are following the right rules when preparing the food. “We will also be making sure that food on sale on the roadside is covered properly and staff adhere to personal hygiene while selling food by wearing gloves and head covers,” Al Ali added.
